An Australian man that leaped past a barrier and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was handed a penalty to over a week in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told Singaporean press.

Wen pushed through camera crews and charged at the performer and artist, who was present at the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The occurrence sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has discussed dealing with PTSD after a terrorist bombing at her show in Manchester in May 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the movie's debut multiple times, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff stopped him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded recordings appreciating the celebrity for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Police took him into custody the following day and accused him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by a news outlet as saying that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was mistaken to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not spoken about the incident.

The co-star discussed the event to a media outlet, stating that she "just wanted to ensure my friend was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us harm, but you never know with those things, and I wanted to ensure that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
