Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, the gifted cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team won seven awards during the event.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by critics.
