British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered its support for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
