Barcelona to Host First Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
